Portland Fruit Tree Project’s Tree Care Program

[Portland, Oregon] The Portland Fruit Tree Project, a local nonprofit focused on food equity for the last 16 years, has a growing tree care program that provides two primary services: coaching and tree care. Healthier trees allow for healthier and more plentiful fruit. This program ensures that the fruit-producing plants in our area have adequate care, and people have the educational resources to act as tree stewards and increase the bounty we can all share. Portland Fruit Tree Project allows this opportunity to bring out their Urban Orchard Training program to learn more about working in the green sector.

Portland Fruit Tree Project (PFTP) provides coaching for those who have established trees or would like to establish new trees and wish to learn more about caring for them. We don’t only provide care for fruit trees but other small trees, ornamental trees and shrubs (including blueberries, raspberries, kiwi and grapes).

Portland Fruit Tree Project provides these services year-round, but pruning is especially important for fruit-bearing plants in the summer and winter months.  Portland Fruit Tree Project also provides pest control and disease advice and other services to promote healthy, thriving trees.

Those interested can book online at https://www.portlandfruit.org/treecare or email [email protected]. Costs range in price depending on the service. One Full-service orchard care and fine pruning consultation are $75, and an hour-long coaching session with a home orchard specialist is $120. Tree care starts at $200 per booking for established clients.

I wrote this press release while interning at Portland Fruit Tree Project. I wrote several press releases and took feedback from my Marketing manager and Executive director. I became a better writer and PR professional because of the internship.
I look forward to learning even more with my next internship.
